layby expire date keeps being extended.

I did a layby at exact church street in September it was supposed to expire in January, I have went to the store 4 times to try and cancel the layby so they can charge the one percent cancellation fee every month I am being told to come the next month as its active. I do not want the items anymore, but I am always told to come the next month to a point a gentleman was so rude he told me he won't assist me I can pay the balance and return the items for a refund. the worst service ever other TFG outlets don't do this how come its different from other.
