Inconsiderate at a time of distress
American Swiss My account number is; ***, I must have opened this account between 1995 & 1998 if my memory serves me correctly. Unfortunately I am one of those people who lost their income due to Covid-19 which came unexpectedly to all of us. I was employed by South African Airways and it’s well known what has been happening there all along. To rub salt into the wound The Foschni Group chose to harass me as if I was a ******** for not being able to pay my account (1 payment in particular)? This is after I had informed them on time that I was about to lose my job.
To my surprise and disappointment, instead of looking at this case as a pecu**** case, considering that I never had payment issues before Covid, they chose to ignore that but instead, tormented me like an irresponsible customer. They turned a blind eye when I inquired about retrenchment insurance, up until today I don’t know whether I have it or not. Fortunately I managed to pay the entire amount I was owing and I thought they will leave me alone. To my shock, few days ago I received a statement saying I owe them a new balance. I was so astonished that I decided to call to find out what’s going on. I was told that I had an interest of 18% because I had paid late. I would like them to show me in black and white (in writing), where and when did they inform me about this interest before. Secondly I’m told that I owe magazines, upon asking when did I sign up for those I was told they would be cancelled. I would also like to have them send me proof in black and white as well, as to when did I sign up for those magazines before they cancel them. As far as I know I don’t owe them anything, except my chain that is in one of their shops and I have not been able to collect it as I don’t have access to funds but hoping to pay when my pension fund is paid soon.
