How is TFG still in business?
y complaint re the tedious process and terrible customer service I've had to endure in just trying to open an account.
1) I received a marketing sms on 26 June saying that I'll get R1000 in discount vouchers if I open a Markhams account. I indicated that I'm wanting to do so. 2) Next day (27 June) I received a phone call to get my details and a request to whatsapp my id and payslip to TFG, which I duly did. An hour or so later I received another sms saying that my account has been provisionally approved and that I will be contacted again. 3) On 29 June I enquired re the progress via whatsapp and facebook re any feedback. The response was that I needed to go to a branch to open my account....? 4) When I advised that I whatsapped and emailed docs thru, the response was that I needed to phone *** - No one ever answers this number? 5) After yet another email enquiry I got told that no-one can find my documentation! Once again I emailed it thru - this is now 3 July. 6) 09/07 I decided to call your new accounts (086 number) and the lady that assisted me told me that they only received my docs today and that it will still take 3 - 5 days before the account is actually opened....... *** 7) Account is eventually opened but when trying to shop online the card is blocked, when I contacted TFG via email and eventually phoned I'm told the account status is "dormant" because it was inactive ?? No one is able to assist...
We confirm that your account needs to be a minimum of 1 month old and you would need to have received your first statement and made your first payment in order for the account to be eligible for online purchases.
This is a security feature for our online stores that all new accounts are subjected to.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused as a result thereof.
Kind regards

However, that is unacceptable. I spend 15 min on the phone to your call centre and where I got told it's because of my retail transaction from Saturday that's no cleared or because my account is inactive.
Also, surely the fact that a new account can't be used online is backward, I mean your stores hardly stock on the shelves compared to the online store all? and if that's the case, then why wasn't I advised of this condition?
I was lured into signing up for an account with an sms that said I'll get a R1000 in discount vouchers etc, nothing has come of that either.
I've only been dealing with TFG since 27/06 and I have had nothing but bad service, silly excuses, and runarounds from every single interaction I've had.
Please can you give the number or the email address for your CEO? I'm not willing to leave this matter here.
