Cellphone insurance claim rejected

I bought a cellphone and it was used by my daughter. My daughter was ****** at with a knife and now I claimed from insurance and they are telling me that the claim has been declined due to the fact that on the insurance I didn't state that it is for my daughter when buying the cellphone. How ridiculous is that suppose to be on the insurance paper? I am really disappointed.
