TEVO - Think Twice purchasing Bennett Read appliances

Disappointment working parts not being available for the Bennett Read - Robot Vacuum Cleaner

We purchased a Bennett Read - Parts Robot Vacuum Cleaner from one of the retail outlets and we are very happy with the product.

However when a small and cheap working parts in the dust-container is not available one feels like being cheated and taken for a ride.

Our Bennett Read - Parts Robot Vacuum Cleaner is cleaned with dishwashing soap at least once a month.

When we washed it the last time we noticed the little screen which seem to be an important part in the dust container is loose. Upon checking it we notice it came out of the little hooks.

Upon inquiring with the retail outlet we purchased it from they referred us to TEVO Cape Town. I called them and they asked me to send them an email. Which I did, I followed up after a few days and was told to bring the entire Bennett Read - Robot Vacuum Cleaner to their premises close to the Cape Town Airport (48 km from my home to the TEVO office and back home). I drove out and TEVO and they were surprised that I came out all the way. I was confused but gathered the staff did not communicate with each other.

When I got back home there was an email from TEVO’s Customer Service Administrator. See email below

Unfortunately, this little screen forms part of the dust container. This means that you would need to replace the dust container entirely. We do not have stock at the moment. I’ve placed an order for it, and I will let you know when it has arrived. 1 x Alphabot Max Dustbin ZHVC40217 – R609.96 each

So beside the Bennett Read - Robot Vacuum Cleaner not working anymore due to not being able to keep the dust in the dust container, being an expensive item and TEVO’s bad service be careful when purchasing this item.

Bennett Read claim they have parts readily available but that does not seem to be the case and we as the consumers need to pay +- R610 for a part which can not cost more then R50.

Lastly I feel the part should be covered in the warranty or at least we should have an extra part like the brushes.
