Fragile drawer switching guide
We bought a 10 Litre Bennett Read air-frier in October 2024. Recently it failed, as the drawer wouldn't close. I worked out that one of the safety activation switches was jammed due to a plastic guide which collapsed. Fortunately I managed to get a replacement drawer for R150 at the Cape Town Tevo agency. They said it was an unusual failure. At home, I noticed a number of dents on the replacement drawer, however the plastic switch seemed easy to un***** and swap, bar lots of *****s. Eventually the swap was done and we had a smart working drawer. Examining the new plastic guide it became obvious why it had failed us. The guide was specially thined at the critical impact point of drawer switch. Thus it was not designed to last long, or had never been endurance tested.(I reinforced the guide with Pratelys Steel putty epoxy, so won't return to the repair agency. I hope the engineering and quality division of Bennett Read can improve this problem
