Faulty Bennett Read Vacuum

Got the vacuum as a gift, virtually brand new. The bleeding thing operates for around five minutes, then goes into shutdown mode for about another five minutes, then all of a sudden restarts again. Probably some sort of faulty electronic monitoring component. Temperature of vacuum is cool - not even warm to the touch, all vents and filters clean and unobstructed. It is truthfully a disgraceful machine, those baby shark vacuums that look like fancy brooms may be weak but atleast they don't die on you!
