Extremely Poor After-Sales Service from Tevo and AEG South Africa

Extremely Poor After-Sales Service from Tevo and AEG South Africa

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of after-sales support from Tevo and AEG in South Africa.

We need to replace the knobs on an AEG gas stove, but the original knobs have been discontinued. In an attempt to find a solution, I drove 65 km to Makro Crown Plaza to see whether knobs from a current AEG gas stove model would fit our appliance.

Tladi assisted me in a very friendly manner and assured me that he would contact Tevo to establish how we could obtain a sample knob to test before ordering the remaining knobs to ensure that they match. Unfortunately, what started as a positive interaction has turned into a frustrating experience of being sent from pillar to post, with no practical solution or meaningful assistance.

It is unacceptable that a customer who has invested in an AEG appliance cannot get proper support for something as basic as replacement knobs. I understand that products and parts may be discontinued, but I expect a reputable brand and its representatives to assist customers in finding suitable alternatives.

I have now reached the point where I am seriously reconsidering my trust in AEG products. I personally own two AEG appliances, which makes this experience even more disappointing.

I have records of the *** I have sent, the people I have contacted, and the effort I have made, including driving 65 km to seek assistance in person. Despite all this, I have received no satisfactory resolution.

My question to Tevo and AEG South Africa is simple: What support can customers expect when they need replacement parts for your products?

Based on my experience, the after-sales support has been extremely poor. I will be sharing my experience on social media and advising other consumers to think carefully before purchasing AEG products until the company demonstrates that it stands behind the products it sells.

I would appreciate a proper response from Tevo and AEG, together with a practical solution to obtain compatible replacement knobs for our gas stove. Customers should not have to go to these lengths just to maintain an appliance they have purchased in good faith.

Hi Leilani. Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your frustration regarding the difficulty in sourcing replacement knobs for your AEG gas stove.

Tevo became the new licence holder for AEG in South Africa in 2025. Our support is focused on the AEG products and stock introduced under our licence since then. For legacy products sold under the previous licence holders, customers may contact Kwikot on zero, one, one, eight, nine, seven, four, six, zero, zero as they assisted the previous licence holders with legacy customer enquiries.

We appreciate the effort you have made to find a suitable solution and apologise for the inconvenience experienced.

Tevo has completely missed the point! 🙄 My question was NEVER about who the new licence holder is or who handled AEG products in the past. I have already been to Kwikot, and THEY referred me to Tevo. All I am asking is for HELP in sourcing a replacement knob for my AEG gas stove. I want to find out whether a new AEG knob will fit the existing stove. Surely someone with product knowledge could assist me in identifying a suitable knob or advise me on how to obtain one to test the fit? Instead, I receive a standard response passing the responsibility back to Kwikot, the very company that referred me to Tevo in the first place! This is exactly what happens when customer service becomes about passing the buck instead of finding solutions. I wasn't asking for the history of AEG's licensing arrangements. I was asking for practical assistance with a simple problem. Passion, initiative and genuine customer care seem to be completely missing in action. What a disappointing response from Tevo.
