DO NOT BUY A ZINGO MOVE 2.0 HOVERBOARD
I don't even know where to start with my experience with my first ever & possibly my last Tevo product purchase. If there was an option for a 'no star' rating I would've selected this option - pity.
My daughter had been saving up to get herself a Zingo hoverboard as she had been wanting one for a long time. Eventually she had saved up enough money. We went to Toys R Us Pavilion to finally get this for her. We made the purchase on the 30th October. We returned this approximately 3 days later due to the fact that the LED lights were mulfunctioning. They exchanged this for us in store. However, the same day they gave this to us, we got home to test the unit only to find that it was making a funny motor sound when turning slowly on the hoverboard. We returned this to toys r us the same day to inform them of the issue and the people at Toys R Us heard this noise themselves and said something was not right. Once again they exchanged it in store and once again we went home to find the exact same problem. So I was tired of this and contacted Tevo. They arranged for 1 of their drivers to come and collect the unit at our residence which was done. This was meant to be for "assessment" reasons. This was tested and found to be faulty and we were informed that a working unit was sent to Toys R Us for us to collect, which I did. Yet again this made the same noise. So once again we contacted Tevo who arranged for a driver to collect this one. The driver arrived with another unit from "head office" or a "different store" in order to swop it out. This unit was also making noise. The Tevo rep told us that the noise was normal which I found hard to believe but nevertheless we kept it to test it. As my daughter drove it, the noise got worse. We then informed Tevo yet again who told us to return the product to Toys R Us for a refund which I did and that they would escalate this matter. A few days passed and I was informed that they have a unit which was tested and would be sent to us once again from their "head office". They then told me to go and purchase another one in order for them to swop out for me yet again. We got home and wanted to test it to see if it was in working in order to try and avoid yet another swop out. However, whilst my daughter was riding the hoverboard, it switched off with no warning of low battery nothing thus causing my daughter to fall off and hurt herself. When it came back on, both panels ot the LED lights were not working. To my utter anger & frustration I contacted Tevo yet again who told me to hold onto this one and that they are having another one tested and dropped off which they did and this even came with a Technical report from the technicians who "tested" this exchange. 2 days now and today my daughter decides to ride it and it is making a straining beeping sound even when idle. We returned this to Toys R Us this afternoon and the staff at Toys R Us even checked it and said something was wrong. I looked if there was yet ANOTHER one in store to exchange only to find that the 3 units on the shelf were resealed and 1 of the units was even opened. This leads me to believe that the faulty units I returned are all put back up for sale. The manager Jesse himself even told the Tevo rep in store that he doesn't want those units on the shelf and that Tevo needs to take them back. Please keep in mind that NONE of the units (from Toys R Us) or from the Tevo "head office" have a batch number on the box which is very strange because I wouldn't know if the exchanges i have been given are from the same batch and perhaps that specific batch is faulty. I will however make mention of Farhaad from Tevo who has helped me thoroughly throughout this ordeal and for that I commend his service. So I decided to leave the unit at Toys R Us this evening and was given a slip to state that they have kept the unit. I was told someone from Tevo would be at the store tomorrow to sort this whole matter out. At the end of the day, whilst I have been very happy with Farhaads service, this product costed R3000 and it's about the principle of the matter that if you buy a product, you expect it to work. In all honesty, I should get a free working unit due to all this inconvenience. I have nothing against the Toys R Us store or Farhaad but merely the product itself. Surely the quality checks should be done thoroughly and tested over a few hours or even a day or 2 prior to being sent for sale to the various retailers. I am beyond shocked. What makes it worse is that since my initial purchase, my daughter has hardly had a chance to really use her hoverboard. I expect a decent solution from Tevo regarding this matter.
