Alphabot Ultra Robot vacuum
I bought an Alphabot Ultra HVC 403 in January via Takealot. The Robot vacuum cleaner impressed us with the mapping an cleaning function. We never used the "mopping" function. The unit cleaned under beds and difficult to reach places.
We allowed it to vacuum the house once a week on Thursdays. The cleaning area is about 120 square metres. Everything was fine until it inexplicably became faulty. It started to make funny turns, skipped areas and just acted weird. I cleaned all sensors, etc., but it did not help. I took it in for repair on 11 September and got it back on 1 October. Apparently the motor required new brushes.
I mapped the house again last night and allowed the unit to do it scheduled vacuuming this morning at 06h30. Although the unit was much better than the time I took it in for repair, it is still not what it used to be. It still makes strange turns and skip areas as a result.
I am not sure what I should do next as the unit cost me a decent amount to buy. Having a vacuum cleaner become faulty and unreliable so fast after paying so much is not great.
