We expected more from the school, particularly given the level of parent involvement required. Much of the end-of-term feedback appears generic and AI-generated, which limits its value in providing meaningful insight into a learner's progress. Parents and learners are largely responsible for marking and checking homework, and because teachers do not consistently review completed work, they may not be aware when a learner is falling behind. Similarly, many exams are initially marked by AI, with parents and learners expected to compare results against the memorandum and formally dispute any incorrectly marked answers. This places a significant administrative burden on families. We also have concerns regarding the level of teacher-led engagement. In some classes, learners are placed in breakout rooms and instructed to work through content independently, even when the lesson is not intended to be self-study. Frequent teacher changes, particularly in subjects such as Mathematics, further disrupt continuity and create additional challenges for learners. The parent portal is not particularly user-friendly and can be time-consuming to navigate. In addition, there are occasions where live classes are double-booked, resulting in learners missing lessons that parents have paid for. The timetable structure could also be improved. Some days have very few lessons, while others have multiple classes scheduled back-to-back with little opportunity for breaks. Furthermore, when public holidays fall on a Tuesday or Thursday, lessons are often scheduled immediately before or after the weekend, which makes planning family long weekends difficult. While we understand that school fees are spread across 12 months, it is frustrating to continue paying full fees during December when learners are not attending classes. We recognize that Teneo can work exceptionally well for highly self-disciplined learners. However, for many families where both parents work full-time and cannot effectively homeschool or supervise schoolwork throughout the day, the administrative demands can become overwhelming. Given the limited availability of government schools and the high cost of many private schools, families often have few alternatives, making these concerns particularly important to address. Overall, we believe there is significant room for improvement in learner support, teacher oversight, communication, and the overall parent experience
