I’m Callaghan, and this year my marks improved from 46% to 66%, making me one of Teneo’s Most Improved Learners. This has been the hardest year of my life. I missed half of Term 1 because I was sick, and in Term 2 my dad became very ill. I wrote my exams while visiting him in hospital every day. During the holidays he passed away, and everything changed. We had to rehome our pets, move out of our family home, and I now share a room with my mom. I missed half of Term 3 as my sleeping and eating patterns collapsed, and I was put on an antidepressant to help me cope. What made the biggest difference was the support I received. Teacher Kim checked in constantly, never pressured me, and excused some assessments so I could heal. Teneo gave me flexibility, understanding, and a real support system. By the end of Term 3, I earned three academic awards, including Top 20 and Top 10. This year showed me how strong I am and what the right support can do.
