I LOVE TENEO
Last year, while sitting at an airport, overwhelmed and unsure how I’d afford another year of private school for my two sons (then going into Grades 3 and 4), I saw a giant ad: “TENEO – Africa’s Biggest and Best Online School.” It felt like fate. I started researching right there and then, and the more I read, the more I felt hopeful - like maybe, just maybe, this was the answer we needed. Teneo has been a game-changer for our family. It’s AFFORDABLE, offers the IEB curriculum (which is rare outside of expensive private schools), and comes with so many unexpected benefits:
No school uniforms or strict haircuts No traffic or early morning school runs No bullying or unfairness - everything is recorded!!! No more boring parent-teacher meetings or prize-givings No unnecessary stationery lists, textbooks, or random termly costs No more packing lunches or replacing lost school clothes
My boys are thriving. They’ve learned to work independently, manage their time, and use technology confidently. They still have structure — they attend live classes, submit assignments, and are held accountable. If they miss a class or fall behind, I get notified. And the best part? I can help them revise using the recorded lessons.
The teachers are incredible - approachable, kind, and committed. Some are strict, some are nurturing, but all are invested in our children’s success. The IEB curriculum teaches them to think critically, not just memorise.
My eldest son has depression, and my youngest has ADHD. Teneo has given them a safe, calm, and supportive environment to learn at their own pace. It’s been wonderful!
Yes, you need a device and internet, but even with that, we’re saving so much more than we did with traditional schooling. And the reward system (hello, Takealot vouchers!) keeps the kids motivated.
