Telepro consultants are a ****
I am lodging a formal complaint against Abantu Debt Solutions, Telepro and Thrive SA.
1. Background In February 2026 I contacted Abantu Debt Solutions and was assured that the debt review flag would be removed from my name. On 27 February 2026 I paid the fee of R6,900 via debt order.
2. Telepro and Thrive SA Telepro then contacted me and said I was being placed on a portal called Thrive SA. Since then, Thrive SA has called me every day asking whether I know I am under debt review and asking if they can help me to remove the flag. I don't know how many people I have spoken to. This repeated, unwanted contact amounts to harassment.
3. Incorrect information on the Thrive SA portal The debt review company listed on the Thrive SA portal is wrong. The correct company is Abantu Debt Solutions. Please correct this immediately.
4. Breach of privacy (POPIA) Abantu Debt Solutions has sent me other people's contracts containing their private and confidential information, including cell phone numbers and ***. This is a breach of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). I reported this by *** on on multiple occasions. My emails were ignored.
5. No response for seven months For seven months I have asked what is happening with my matter, and no one has come back to me. I have had no feedback from any lawyer or consultant, and it appears nothing is being done on my case. Abantu debt solutions Facebook page was last updated in 2023, which adds to my concern that I paid for a service that is not being delivered.
I call Telepro Consultants monthly and they tell me a lawyer will call me back, no lawyer has ever called. Mind you can cab write an email. One of the calls the call center manager asked me to remove my Google Review of the business.
I will be escalating this to the National Credit Regulator, the Information Regulator, the National Consumer Commission, the relevant ombud, and my attorney.
