lounge suite fraying within 2 years

In 2017 Ive purchased a lounge suite for R28 000, 1 and a half years later it started fraying. Ive contact the salesperson Jackie and told him about it and he responded being shocked to hear this and asked for me to send a msg to head office. Head office responded that they will re-cover the sofas at a cost of R5800. Why do i have to pay for it to be recovered? It was within 2 years ive mentioned all this in an email to Management and till date i have not received any response from them. They r an ************* company to deal with.
