Taxtim - a 21st century onslaught on SARS

Old Mutual sent communication that Taxtim is available to their clients and I thought I would give it a go. SARS made a pre-assessment, saying I owe them close to R700 (a lot of money in the current economic climate). After logging on to Taxtim’s website it was a breeze. I experienced some frustration on the e-Filing system with handing over power of attorney -seeing as I logged in on a mobile device- but fifteen minutes later it was sorted.

The Taxtim chat bot “asks” you questions in such a way that makes it easy and super user friendly - as opposed to the virtual form on the SARS portals that can overwhelm you.

I urge all Old Mutual, Sanlam and eBucks clients and subscribers to make use of Taxtim.

O yes. After Taxtim’s assessment, it turns out I only owe SARS R22.00. Take that South African Revenue Service (KAPOW!)👋🤦🏽♂️
