If you're a freelancer, use TaxTim!

I'm a freelancer, and I’ve always worried that I might be doing something wrong when it comes to my taxes, so this year I decided to try TaxTim for my provisional tax. It’s been a really reassuring experience. Knowing that the return goes through checks and that there’s an actual tax practitioner available if I need one gives me a lot of peace of mind. The AI chat is also pretty helpful, and if it can’t help, it refers you to the help desk where real people can assist. I did have a small hiccup with the tax payment, but this was actually due to SARS, not TaxTim. SARS had given TaxTim full access to my eFiling instead of shared access as they requested, and the payment reference on the SARS payment advice was also incorrect. TaxTim’s help desk sorted everything out for me, providing the correct reference number and showing me how to regain shared access. I was happy with how TaxTim handled it. I feel the TaxTim fee is worth it for the reduced stress alone. I haven’t done my ITR12 through TaxTim yet, but I’ll be doing that when the next one is due. So far, I’m very happy with the service and definitely plan to use them again.
