Terrible experience trying to cancel membership with Talksure
I'm super dissapointed with Talksure. My mom is a pensioner and she signed up, but soon after realised she can not afford it. Since Feb we were trying to cancel. They ignore the request and keep saying they can not get a hold of her, which is a lie. When she spoke to one of their agents, the agent told her she can not cancel her GAP cover at her age and "what is R230 after all". I sent at least 4 emails requesting a cancellation, my mom spoke to them twice and sent sms messages. It is July now and today they told us it is cancelled after 5 extra payments have been made. I'm very dissapointed in this company!

03 Jul 2019, 09:03Dear Melita,
Kindly note that we have investigated the concerns raised by yourself, as per our records:
The initial Gap cover policy which your mom had with us, taken up in April 2018, was cancelled as per your request in March 2019. Note that your request for cancellation was not "ignored", we had attempted to contact your mom, being the policyholder, on multiple occasions to assist her with the cancellation however to no avail, we sent her text messages and emails to yourself advising same; you had also responded to the email advising that you were out of the country. The policy was subsequently cancelled as mentioned and a text message was sent to your mom confirming same as well as an email was sent to the email address (***) which we had on record for your mom also confirming same.
We subsequently contacted your mom in May 2019 with regards to Gap cover and to which she had agreed to sign up once more. The representative advised her that it is R230.00 per month and advised her on the benefits and importance of having a gap cover. We subsequently received an email from yourself on the 21st June 2019 advising that you had requested cancellation in February 2019 and we have not actioned same and subsequently requested a refund; we successfully made contact with your mom on the 26th June 2019 regarding your email and to which the benefits were re-explained and your mom had mentioned that she will discuss the policy with you and agreed to keep the policy active.
We then received a further email from yourself on the 01st July 2019 expressing your dissatisfaction and requesting cancellation and a refund once more; we subsequently rep**** to your email requesting a contact number for yourself in order to discuss the matter with you however a reply was not received.
In light of the above and at no fault of Talksure Trading, we will be refunding the premiums successfully collected for the Gap cover policy taken up in May 2019; we have also added your mom onto our Do Not Call list and as such will prevent further calls made to her from within our organization.
We trust the above brings context to your query and you find it to be sufficient and in order.
Regards

03 Jul 2019, 20:01Interesting.... so why did the payments not stop after it was cancelled in March and why did they keep sending me emails that they cannot reach her because according to your message above they spoke to her at least twice during this time? Please do not contact her (or me) again. We are waiting for her refund. Thank you
