Your ebooks are not yours

I purchase a couple of ebooks from Takealot. I moved to New Zealand and so happened that the device I downloaded my ebooks on was sold (and the one was wiped clean as it was ****** and returned).

I now have been told that the ebooks I purchased, (and as far as I was aware, were mine) have basically expired, since I have "used up" my tokens??? Are you serious? How is it possible that I cannot locate the ebooks I PAID FOR on my takealot.com app which I sign in to with the same username I bought the books with?

This is ridiculous as Takealot reckon that if I purchase an ebook through them I am NEVER ALLOWED TO SELL MY DEVICES???

I am told sorry for you, buy them again.

When I bought them and moved to New Zealand I was so happy I could access South African material so far away, but unfortunately this was too good to be true. I wanted to support South African, but I'll have to stick with kindle, which I have used on MULTIPLE DEVICES OLD AND NEW without being told to buy the books over again every time I change to a new device.

By the way, there is a 2 missing off the end of my cell phone number since hello peter made no provision for country codes.
