Why ask for delivery date.... If you cannot keep it

You buy a bar fridge. Still it is a hefty package. At checkout I get asked if I agree with the delivery date. I said I do. I arrange for help to move the package and arrange to get off from work to receive the package as I need to get it installed ASAP. NO COMMUNICATION from Takealot. When I enquire an hour after the latest time Takealot stipulated I get told... Oh sorry package is still on its way. Now I realise that it is probably the largest online retailer but for a leader it should probably have its delivery options correct. This is the 3rd package that was not delivered on time or date. Thinking I am better off with brick and mortar shops as at least I get the item when and where I want. The convenience/ perk of free delivery is starting to fade.
