Weeks Without Resolution – Underweight Products & No Follow-Up

I am extremely disappointed with Takealot’s handling of a serious issue involving underweight Rogue Legion whey protein purchased on 13 November.

Both sealed 1kg bags weighed below the stated net weight, and I provided clear photo evidence. The supplier did not respond to any of my attempts to contact them directly, so I escalated the matter to Takealot immediately.

Takealot repeatedly told me the case was “escalated” and that I would receive feedback, yet I have been waiting for weeks with no final resolution, and my last follow-up emails have gone unanswered. This has caused significant inconvenience, especially given that this is a Consumer Protection Act matter involving product weight discrepancies.

I have proof of every communication, including Takealot promising a resolution and failing to deliver one. It is extremely disappointing that no senior consultant has intervened, despite my requests.

Due to the lack of action and communication, I am now preparing to take the matter to the Consumer Ombud. A retailer of Takealot’s size should not let a simple quality-control issue drag on for nearly three weeks with no outcome.
