Watch out - Takealot does not honour warrantees!
The light in my Kindle Paperwhite recently broke. Even though it should still be covered by the one year warrantee, Takealot informed me that over the past year the terms have changed, and my problem is no longer covered. They can repair it, but for a fee.

I have since been in contact with Amazon in the US, and they confirmed that my issue should definately still be covered by the standard warrantee arrangement, and couldn't understand why Takealot refused to assist me. They actually offered to send me a brand new replacement Kindle free of charge, as a way of trying to apologise for the inconvenience (so really impressive service there!).

I any case, be warned - Takealot doesn't seem to mind taking advantage of customers, and think twice before buying anything where a warrantee may be required somewhere down the line.
Thank you for taking our returns team's call earlier today to address this matter with you. As discussed it seems a miscommunication occurred with regards to the reason noted for the return being a \cracked screen\". Due to the nature of your request
