Watch out for those special discounts on Takealot Jewelry

I ordered a luxary watch from Takealot more than a week ago for my daughters 40th birthday. I was tracking it daily and it arrived today on her birthday. I ordered from Takealot as they offered a discounted price to the other sellers of the same product.

Takealot is also reputed to be a trustworthy supplier, so did not expect supply problems.

When we opened the parcel today we were shocked to find a cheap digital watch worth a few hundred rand. We ordered and paid for a luxary Michael Skors for several thousand rand. This cheap product looked nothing like the watch we ordered.

Takealot advertises these watches, but somehow they cannot get stock, and offered me a credit note. When I search their site, I see the exact same watch now offered at at R1500 more than I paid.

Now all I want is the wagch I paid for, but now its long stories as to why they cannot mix suppliers bla bla bla..

Disgusted to be embarresed at my daughters birthday and not having a decent present to give her. Even more dissapointed with Takealot for not living up to the expected honesty and integrity. If you sell something, and can no longer supply, then imnediately inform the buyer and refund them in good time, dont send a cheap dud and hope to get away with an inferior product....or is this just a way to sidestep the nice discounts you offer and then cannot keep your promise to deliver in 5 to 7 days.
