Warranty void due to apparent User Damage
I bought a cellphone cover from Takealot.com. the cover had a warranty of 6 months. Within those 6 months a piece broke off which held the kick stand (because the cover had a kick stand) then within a few days the kick stand broke off after a collision. I took the cover back within the warranty period and I was then told that the cover warranty is void. In their response of letting me know that the warranty is void, they mentioned that it's because of user damage that the kick stand is broken. No questions where asked in terms of how it broke instead I'm accused of "user damage".
It's a cellphone cover. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's meant to protect my phone when it does fall and whether it has extra's, like a kick stand, it too is part of the cellphone cover. So how am I accused of user damage if the product cannot withstand a collision? That just shows how poor quality the product is. What happened to, "The customer is always right" ? Instead the customer is accused of user damage.
I sent a response to their email informing me about the void warranty and they are yet to respond to me, instead the cover was sent back to me without a word from them (Takealot.com). I just want a new cover or my money back. I actually wonder how many customers who have bought cellphone covers from takealot.com, returned them within warranty to just have their items returned back in the same condition.
