Warranty forfeit

I bought a bucket in December and it decided to die on me and returned it only to be declined cos they telling me the bucket was switched on without water. Surely had the bucket been switched on without water the hear of the element would have melted the bucket.

Now apparently I forfeit the the warranty according to them
