Warranty cannot be used for Samsung Tablet

I had purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 from TAKEALOT in November 2013. The device is still under warranty until November 2015.
Recently, the tablet has been crashing so I took it to Samsung for a software upgrade which is covered by the warranty. Samsung however cannot help because the invoice I received from TAKEALOT does not show the device's IMEI number which is used to link the invoice to the device.

TAKEALOT could not alter the invoice or write an official letter to state that I purchased the device from them as they do not have a record of the IMEI in any of their documentation.

As the customer, I now cannot use the warranty because TAKEALOT did not put an important piece of information on their invoice. It therefore might be better that consumers purchase electronic devices from physical stores to ensure that the warranty can be used (which we pay for).

Hello Mishaal07,

Thank you for taking Sharonese's call earlier & allowing her to look into this. As discussed she's escalated the matter to our buyer who should be able to shed some light on the situation & we'll gladly assist in any way possible.

She'll be in touch with you as soon as she's received the necessary feedback from the buyer.

Kind Regards,
