WARNING: Original item price misleading!

If you've shopped online with TAKEALOT you would have come across their specials with xx% off the item and a \HOT\" label in the corner of the thumbnail image.<br> <br> I recently came across this when searching for a SLR Camera bundle, it was around 35% off marked down from R12 182.00 to \"ONLY\" R7 899.00 . Drawn to this item by all the advertising bells and whistles along with the thought of saving over R4 000.00 I almost made the purchase immediately, luckily for me I though a quick browse around to check their pricing against another online site I found the exact same bundle which was R100 more than TAKEALOT's offer at R7 999.00 but they listed the original price at R8 499.00.<br> <br> Ultimately TAKEALOT is misleading their customers into thinking they're saving a lot more money than they actually are, in this case I thought I was saving around R4 200.00 when really it was a few hundred rand.<br> <br> That being said, TAKEALOT's prices are still good and service is great so I believe there's no need for this misleading advertising, it's disappointing to see such a popular company take advantage of their customers."
