Very bad service

I recently purchased a book titled 'The Junior Encyclopedia Britannica' from Takealot online. My 12 year old nephew has a very inquisitive mind so I thought that it would be a good addition to the expansion of his knowledge, only to discover that, when I received the book and presented the book to my nephew, the print quality was very poor with blank pages, smudges, missing text and missing images. Takealot does not allow their clients to return books, so when I lodged a complaint a month ago thinking that the book was counterfeit, especially because the seller was 'Anonymous' (which has been denied by Takealot), I finally got a response last night that was completely unsatisfactory. Despite the title containing the word 'junior', they tell me that the book is actually geared towards 'scholars' and is not meant for young children or pre-teens. I am now stuck with a book that cost me R1400 that I can do nothing with and Takealot are unhelpful and will not budge. I have tried looking on the internet for the publisher or the editor, but they are nowhere to be found. I have now put Takealot on notice that I plan to contact their parent company to complain.
