On Sunday, February 23, the Elecstor vendor listed the Elecstor 300W Lithium Portable Power Station at R1,679. Shockingly, on Monday, February 24, the price was abruptly increased to R6,999—an approximate 317% increase.

Such a dramatic and sudden price hike is deeply concerning and clearly contravenes fair trade principles. Under South African legislation—including the Consumer Protection Act (No. 68 of 2008) and the Competition Act (No. 89 of 1998)—suppliers are expected to engage in fair, transparent, and honest business practices. Sudden, exorbitant price increases without any justifiable cause not only mislead consumers but also exploit them, thereby undermining market integrity.

I am particularly troubled by the apparent lack of governance on your platform, as such practices suggest insufficient oversight of vendor activities.
