USELESS TAKEALOT AND USELESS AGENTS. VERY DISAPPOINTING
Very disappointing and shockingly bad service from this company. This is a real pity, as I’ve used them a lot in the past and never had an issue until now.
I purchased a Transcend hard drive from them which is still under warranty. In less than a year, toward the end of last year, it began giving me serious issues. As someone who relies heavily on hard drives for work, this was incredibly stressful. The drive kept freezing, and I couldn’t even move some of my information over to a new hard drive.
I tested it on other computers and experienced the same issue. Out of sheer desperation, I had it professionally tested to confirm that the problem was indeed the hard drive and not my computer. This was confirmed — the hard drive itself was faulty.
With this information, I was advised to urgently get a new hard drive to transfer my data. This process took days due to the *******ion of the drive, and even then, I wasn’t able to recover all of my information. I then cleared the drive and sent it back to the seller, Takealot.
Since then, I’ve been in an endless battle trying to get either a refund or a replacement, given that the drive is under warranty and was already *******ed before being assessed. I sent copious amounts of evidence to support this.
I initially dealt with someone named Amy K, who never got back to me. Then, out of the blue, I was informed that the hard drive would be delivered back to me — with no follow-up email, no explanation, nothing. Just the return of my useless, ******* drive, despite it still being under warranty.
I am now dealing with someone called Tamryn A, who has been even more unhelpful. This entire process has been unnecessarily stressful and has completely put me off this company. I have repeatedly asked to speak to a superior, yet nothing has been done, and the drive is still clearly under warranty.
What exactly am I supposed to do with a faulty hard drive?
Needless to say, I will be using other companies from now on.
