Used to be my number 1 Online Retailer
Received my sms stating delivery coming in on Friday(8/12/17), skipped a team lunch and opportunity to leave the office early as I was excited that my new router is finally en route. Called the Call centre at around 15:45 to confirm all is on track and was advised the driver has 15 more deliveries but is still heading to me, so I waited. At 16:38 I receive a notification "Recipient Unavailable to take delivery" ---- take a moment to understand my frustration at this point... Called in and according to their records the courier was at the Destination and I was unavailable, I received no calls from reception nor a call on my cell. The manager comes on the call after roughly a 10 minute hold time promising he will do his level best for a weekend delivery and either himself or Kate will keep me updated throughout, as expected there were no calls I just received an sms stating delivery will be rescheduled for Monday. Wow sterling job guys... On Sunday I get a call now saying that the reason delivery was not successful was the driver had a break down. So these are my options for me to imagine why my delivery never arrived: 1. Totally my fault as I was not standing outside my office building harassing every delivery guy to check if he has something for me. 2. The new 3rd party delivery vehicles which I am certain a lot of people question has had a breakdown. 3. Driver went to the wrong delivery address and I was not at the entrance so I was unavailable.
A month ago I actually rated Takealot.com a 10/10 as I do believe they have competitive prices and well their delivery has been outstanding.
I guess everyone does drop the ball and clearly outsourcing delivery is a major downside for Takealot, but well that's my opinion and experience.
Its been a great few years hope you guys get your act together.
Hopefully this message reaches someone who can impact in a positive way to fix what was once without a doubt the best online retailer ...
