UNAUTHORISED PAYMENTS FROM TAKEALOT

Just to summarise, I ordered something on Takealot on the 31st of August 2025 then the next day I cancelled the order. They did manage to refund on the 4th of September 2025. Few days later (11 September 2025) they then debited my account the same amount that I had bought with on the 31st of August (no reference on the banking app). I decided to contact my bank and they did confirm it was from Takealot. I don’t know who authorised that payment but it simply went off just like that. I contacted the bank, ***** case was opened and they told me that I should check with Takealot. I emailed Takealot but it was a back to back chat, no positive outcome. The last time I contacted Takealot they said “there’s backlog in their finance/ ***** department”. I gave them everything (proof of transaction, order number of the order that was debited twice, order proof of cancellation) for them to see it was an unauthorised transaction. 89 days later the bank is still contacting me regarding feedback/ outcome from Takealot and I have nothing positive to say. I even requested that they at least reimburse with a voucher of the same amount debited but they still refused. The bank only keep transactions of up to since months back and we’ll be clocking it without a positive response from Takealot.
