Unacceptable Service and Faulty Products - Extremely Disappointed

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service and products I received from Takealot. Despite addressing my concerns to the CEO, Mr. Frederik Zietsman, I have been completely ignored. Here is a detailed account of my experience:

On 18 July, I placed an order totaling R8,300, which included computer office chairs, a desk, and a WiFi extender. The delivery driver left these items outside my gate, and my helper at home, who was carrying a child on her back, was unable to move these heavy items inside. This was the first instance of unacceptable service.

Upon my arrival, I managed to bring the items inside and assembled the table. Fortunately, there were individuals from a furniture shop delivering other items, and they assisted with the assembly. To my dismay, the table’s drawers were sticky and not in proper working order. I reported this issue to Takealot, only to be informed that the table would need to be taken for assessment without any clear turnaround time or alternative solution offered. This lack of transparency and urgency is unacceptable, especially considering that I need the table immediately for my remote work.

Additionally, the computer delivered is faulty. The headphone port is non-functional, and the system freezes whenever I attempt to use Zoom alongside any other application. This significantly disrupts my work and is far below the quality expected for such an investment.

Takealot’s handling of this situation has been deplorable. There has been no satisfactory resolution offered, and I feel completely disregarded as a customer. If this is the standard of service and product quality provided, I see no reason to continue purchasing from Takealot in the future.

I expect an immediate resolution to these issues, including the replacement of the faulty items and compensation for the inconvenience caused. Your prompt attention to this matter is required.

Sincerely,
