Try using Google Maps, Tomtom or even (gasp) Garmin

Over the weekend, I ordered a new tablet. Great... if it could be delivered.

I live in a gated estate big enough to cover 3 extensions... Everyone, including the City of Tshwane can find this place! I provided both the Estate Name and the street address, both of which can be used by Google Maps, Tomtom or Garmin to find me... except if you work for Takealot.com. Then I have not provided enough information...

From the tracking info, the delivery van drove right past the front gate of the estate (yes, there is a big sign, 2 meters high, 3 meters wide advertising on the road from one branch to another branch... if only the driver had bothered to look at the road.

A quick search on google maps shows 4 streets with similar names, the closest being in Benoni... so, it is not hard knowing that I do not live in Cape Town or Benoni to find me. Similar searches on FNB, Axxess, MTN, Vodacom, Telkom, Absa all find me using the same contact info that I gave!

Calling Takealot... wow! What a nice person on the other end.. so understanding! I will get hold of the courier company and see if we can still deliver today. I will get back to you... no really I will, I promise. 12 hours later, no delivery, no callback, no update.

Can you get Mr D's telephone number? No! Can you have the parcel wait for you at their nearest office? No! Just sit at home every day until we deliver...

Just deliver the packages to the nearest courier office and I WILL COLLECT THERE MYSELF. After all, I can use google maps...
