Total disregard for customer, do NOT use them

For the past year, I've been noticing a steady decline in the service levels offered by Takealot, but as of late, it really has hit rock bottom - one cannot complain about the service, since there is none at all. I have been a loyal customer for quite a few years, and I have spent thousands on this site since I hate shopping malls - but enough is enough, I will rather go through the hastle of driving to the shop and being greeted by miserable people behind a till than contribute to this sorry excuse for a company's profit.

Let us go back to January 2016 - order # ********** . You sent me a damaged book, which even a blind person would have noticed, if you had any quality control in your warehouse. We move on to order # ********** , a rather expensive purchase of Guitar Hero for PS4 - you sent me a faulty controller.

In May 2016 - order # ********** - I bought a very expensive luggage piece from you. Which arrived only wrapped in plastic and extremely dirty. Could you not bother to get a box for an order of R1 30

In August 2016 I ordered a variety of books - most of which arrived damaged. I refer to orders # ********** , # ********** and # ********** .

We then have a look at September 2016 - o, what an interesting experience this was! Order # ********** was returned not once, but TWICE, before you sent me an undamaged item. And you would have kept sending me damaged items had I not insisted on the product being shown to me before delivery. Then order # ********** - both CD cases had been cracked, almost certainly from having taken a fall prior to being delivered to me. We go on to order # ********** - AGAIN a damaged book.

I then did not make any purchases for quite a while, as I was very much fed up with the bad service and quality of the products - but I gave Takealot another chance when your Bluedot sale came arround. Miraculously, you did not ***** up order # ********** , but oh boy, it didn't last long. Order # ********** again arrived damaged, luckily only to the display box and not the actual books this time.

Then came the final two orders that completly sent me over the edge. Order # ********** - an order for two GREEN inflatable pool loungers, which I ordered as Christmas presents for my cousins. What do I receive? Two very much not green, but BLUE loungers. I proceed to complain about this, and get useless answers from the customer service team - Somoya Armino in particular. I post a complaint on Facebook, to which is responded that you DO have one green lounger in stock. Two days pass, with no communication, before I get an email from FC Truter, casually informing me that you do not have stock and with a could-not-care-less attitude telling me that I will definitely not be receiving the replacement before my family and I leave on holiday and that I should just return the item for a refund - why yes you intelligent person, let us ***** up Christmas even further!

Next came order # ********** - of which I only received half the order. Now, I'd like to congratulate Mr Vuyo Fanta, whom at least tried to be helpful and understanding when I was beyond furious. Now if he can just follow up and tell me where the rest of my order is - that would be great. But alas, it seems he to suffers from the ever present Takealot mentality of empty promises.

So I urge my fellow shoppers - do not support this company. Their service is horrific, the deliver late and most of the time the items come damaged or are over priced. Make use of alternatives such as RARU and Loot.
