This is a rating for priority shipping & their support staff
Let me start this by saying that I've used takealot for YEARS - I have no dislike of the company themselves... But the below issue has totally gotten to me - and it's the lack of care that has me feeling like I need to post about it to warn others.
PRIORITY SHIPPING If you're ordering more than one item as a single order and you request priority shipping (in my case, I just needed one of the items urgently, the rest didn't matter); the "guaranteed delivery date" apparently means that they're guaranteed to deliver _at least_ one of the items in your order by that date.
In other words: if you ordered 100 different items in one order, and you request priority shipping... Then if only one of those items arrives and the other 99 are cancelled because their stock is suddenly unobtainable (AFTER you've placed the damn order and paid), then they WILL NOT refund you for priority shipping.
How is this even a thing? Why is the priority shipping determined by _something_ arriving on the date and not the whole order (especially if the delivery doesn't even contain the urgent item)?
TAKEALOT SUPPORT The responses from the takealot support staff were basically useless. The first person that responded said that they see the one item suddenly becoming unavailable AFTER my order was placed, and that they'd get back to me ASAP. I just reminded them that I needed a response by a certain date.
That date came and went, and I never heard anything. I sent a sarcastic "thanks for the time-critical feedback"... And just received a separate automated email confirming that I had been credited the amount for the unavailable item... But nothing about the "guaranteed shipping".
I sent another support request asking 1) how to report a previous support assistant for literally not supporting, and 2) disputing the lack of refund on the priority shipping.
I received an email which didn't address issue (1), and that stated "Please be advised that we will not be able to process the credit for your shipping fee as the delivery was fulfilled on time". I argued that it _wasn't_ fulfilled on time because I didn't receive the entire order by the specified date... And two days later, still no response.
Sigh - I very rarely feel the need to post in anger about stuff, but this just really left me feeling the need to get it out =/
Thanks if you took the time to read this, and I hope that you never encounter the above issue.
