Terrible Service

Worst service ever, Takealot!

My television broke 2 weeks ago – and when I contacted Takealot to arrange collection for repairs, I specifically asked the lady on the phone to send a box with the courier (since I don't have the original box anymore). She confirmed this was normal procedure as all the drivers had spare boxes in their collection vans.

Last week, Wednesday, the Takealot courier showed up at my home without the box – collection had to be postponed and I was assured that when he came the following day her would have a box!

However, the next day he arrived at my home - without a box AGAIN!.

On Friday, I spoke to Jade from Takealot on the phone and rescheduled a collection date and again mentioned the issue regarding the box to put the TV in, she again assured me this was standard protocol.

I must at this point say I was very satisfied with the service I got from her, she did send me a confirmation email after our conversation on the phone and was very re-assuring of the service that Takelot are supposed to deliver.

The courier was scheduled to collect my television yesterday (Monday 14 May) for the THIRD time - and surprise!... no one showed up. How pathetic is this!!! After having received a sms last week on Friday confirming that he would collect the television before 17:00, Monday, 14 May.

This morning I again sent an email to Jade telling her about how upset I am and that I will NEVER purchase anything ever again on Takealot.com. I received an email from Kate saying:

Dear Naomi

Thank you for contacting Takealot.com.

Please allow me to escalate this to the courier to query as to when your return will be collected.

I am sincerely sorry for the service you have received thus far and I hope we will be able to turn this around for you.

Well, another day has passed and Takealot has done NOTHING!

I used to be a big fan of Takealot - but after this incident I will NEVER purchase anything ever again. I will also encourage people to reconsider before buying anything on your website.

I want my money back! Seriously.
