Terrible and then brilliant customer service.
I ordered a gift for my niece on Monday as it was her birthday on Thursday. There were a few things in my cart, and I deleted a few others that were in the Cape Town warehouse and wouldn't arrive on time. My expected delivery was Wednesday - perfect. The main present was a Hungry Hippo game for R339. On Wednesday, I received all the little gifts, but not the Hungry Hippo game. I called and spoke to Somaya Armini who told me that she would speak to the warehouse and make sure delivery would be the next day (Thursday). Thursday morning I woke up with no SMS stating delivery would take place. So I phoned again and got through to Tshepang Oageng. He contacted the warehouse who told him they had lost the package. I now had no gift for my niece, no money to buy her anything else and no patience for Takealot telling me it was still coming from Cape Town. I was IRATE. Tshepang dealt with me shouting and yelling about the situation. I eventually asked him for a refund and put down. Long story short, after various phone calls and arrangements, Tshepang managed to get me my Hungry Hippos game at a different address by 5pm on Thursday. He didn't need to go all out like he did, I asked for a discount - he could have just processed it. This is a man that deserves all the credit in the world. Somaya, on the other hand, deserves negative praise. At 9:41 on Wednesday she sent an email stating that "We are checking with our warehouse as you need it urgently tomorrow and will get back to you ASAP." I think her and I have different views of ASAP. All she had to do was call. She could learn a thing or two from Tshepang.
