Tear in Cover of Travel Luggage

I purchased Iconix luggage cover on 21 November 2024 and travelled on 01 December overseas. I only used the cover once and it tore when I arrived at my destination. I did not use the cover again until I departed on 31 December to South Africa. I returned it to takealot on 3 January 2025 on my return to South Africa. I am now told by takealot that they cannot refund me as it tore because of wear and tear. This item was only used once on 01 December. Only a week after I purchased it. Returned it 4 weeks later. I’m now told that the tear is because of wear and tear. Wear and tear is usually over a long period. This is an unacceptable response from takealot. The product is guaranteed . I do not recommend this product. There’s holes in the cover after using it once. Can takealot please refund me as your response is unacceptable
