Talking to a brick wall.
Beware, when you have to dispute a return!
I bought a product that is under a 3 year warranty according to the manufacturer (Microsoft), but under a 2 year warranty according to Takealot's supplier. Even though the return was accepted, and the courier came to collect it, they are now refusing to replace my product.
It's fair enough that they believe the supplier before they believe the customer (me), but the way they handle it is terrible.
First I was ignored for a week. Then I called them to explain the entire situation again. The person on the phone sounded like she understood what was going on, but the reply I got on Zendesk was once again just "Sorry, not under warranty". They did not answer any of my other questions that I asked, nor did they respond to the Warranty documentation from Microsoft that I sent them.
Any further attempt to communicate with them via their Zendesk resulted in answers like "Sorry, it's really a 2 year warranty". They do not answer my questions. They do not read the proofs that I send them to the contrary.
To summarize: My experience with Takealot is like talking to a brick wall. Or to a bot. I'm starting to wonder whether their Zendesk is actually operated by humans or not.
