Talelot V South African law

Takelot have decided that their terms and conditions outrank the law of South Africa. In December I bought 2 external lights for our property,approx R5000, they arrived about 9th December, but because of the Christmas period holiday, and my electricians workload we decided not to unpack them at that time. When we came to use the lights,around 10 January we found that both were damaged and unuseable, we sent them back to Takelot, bu they declined to accept them as I was outside the return period specified in their terms and conditions. I have sent several emails pointing out that current South African Cosumer Law allows that in the case of a product suppled defective, or developing a fault within 6 months,the consumer can return the items, and request a replacment, repeir or refund. It's the comsumers choice. Each time I get a reply from different people pointing out that I haven't comp**** the THEIR returns policy and they are doing nothing else. It's even reached the point where my lawyers have sent a letter of demand, but to date not even a response!! With all of my other dealings with Takelot they have been great and very efficient, but this is not acceptable
