Takeslot refuse to replace item that doesn't perform as advertised.

I purchased a phone in May that was advertised as having 5g capability. Unfortunately, I only discovered the lack thereof in August. I saw this as an issue, as I had initially decided to pay a premium for the phone with 5g capability. I decided to log a return to takealot, ender the guise of the product not being what I had ordered.

The subsequent exchange that followed informed me that it was not possible to do a return, as it fell outside of the 30 day returns period, this however, being after they had asked me for a screenshot of my order, which upon receiving, they would have been able to determine the date of purchase. They still asked me to return the phone and any extras back to them for further investigation.

Since then, I was informed that there was nothing that could be done. No effort to rectify the issue, nor any effort to amend the extra cost that I had paid for my phone to have 5g capability. My preferred outcome, as stated was to either have the phone replaced with the correct model or a refund, so that I may purchase something more suitable.

Any attempt to escalate the issue further, has been ignored, without any alternative channels of communication made available. On the app, the issue has also been marked as having been resolved, which further limits any option for recourse.

I am totally unsatisfied with this outcome, as I had come to trust takealot as a brand and never expected to be disappointed to this extent.
