Takelot won't reimburse.

I was always happy with Takealot but now they say they have a new policy that, regardless of the law protecting consumers whereby you may return something within 7 days after purchase, all of a sudden, Takealot won't reimburse customers if the product packaging, in this case big wrap-around headphones, has been opened. The item has been neatly packaged back into the original package and there is no issue about that but the set does not fit properly around the ears and they are refusing to reimburse citing its their new policy. No other objection. How does one know if something - not talking about clothing even - fits if you cannot open the package???
