Takelot will only guarantee an item for 6 months even if it states item has a 1 year guarantee.

Bought a Nintendo Switch from them.

Nintendo announced that there was a defect with the left joycon and as with my luck my left joycon has this defect.

My nintendo switch is only 8 months old and takealot states i get 1 year guarantee.

Contacted takealot as i would like to arrange to send this unit in for the guarantee repair and the takealot representative states that takealot will not accept any items if it is over 6 months old. I need to contact the distributor and sort it out with them.

I then proceeded to contact the Nintendo distributor in JHB and the asked that i need to ship this item to them. This wil cost me +- R1200 to send my item that is under guarantee via a courier there and back. A new Joycon costs R1400-00

so takealot you are quick to sell stuff but unable to guarantee stuff. This 6 month policy of yours is bull ****. I bought the item from you and not the nintendo distributor.
