TAKELOT AND THEIR "3RD PARTY COURIER" A DISGRACE
I ordered a curriculum for my child as my children are legally home schooled children, dog food and herbal toothpaste on the 3rd January 2020. The estimated delivery was the 24th January as according to the APP they were waiting for one of my products to arrive at the warehouse. All good and well.
On the 14th January, a day before school reopened I receive a text stating the parcel is out for delivery and will be delivered on the 17th January before 17h00. We arranged our day in order to receive the package. The application tracking service confirmed this (and it still currently saying the same thing and the date today is the 20 January 2020).
17th January 2020 came and went. I approached TakeAlot on Facebook to enquire as I had a trip arranged for 2 weeks for interviews lined up in Johannesburg. Customer service and deliveries needs a serious revamp as I've lost a chance of income, my child's education is delayed, my dog would have been food-less, I had to make an alternative arrangement and buy him food in the meantime which was not budgeted for.
Just to warn others,
IF TAKEALOT FAILS TO DELIVER IT ACTUALLY BECOMES YOURS, THE CUSTOMERS PROBLEM AND YOU HAVE TO RE RELEASE THE PACKAGE IF SENT BACK TO THE WAREHOUSE. YOU ALSO HAVE TO WASTE TIME AND MONEY PHONING AROUND AND DOING THE WORK FOR THEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY I CANCELLED MY TRIP AND LOST MONEY IN THIS REGARD TOO. SO IN TOTAL MY TOTALS COSTS ARE:
R653 + MY TRIP COST ME R3500 FOR TRANSPORT AND ACCOMODATION, LOST A CHANCE FOR INTERVIEWS + MY AIRTIME DOING THEIR WORK... HIGHLY DOUBT TAKEALOT EVEN CARES.
HIGHLY DISGUSTING.
PS: I HAVE SCREENSHOT THE ENTIRE CONVERSATION ON FACEBOOK TO DATE AS PROOF IN THIS REGARD.
Contacted FedEx with my tracking number at 13.22 on 20/01/2020 and the lady confirmed that the package only left the Port Elizabeth branch today, but sounded unsure of herself. They only received the package on the 15th she says. From Port Elizabeth to me is a 2 and a half hours drive, not 2 and a half days or in this case 5 days. I am fed up with TakeAlot and FedEx. This happens to frequently.
