Takealot's Worthless Gaurantee

I ordered a fairly expensive gift from takealot recently. The same product was available at KOODOO for the same price, but I opted to go with takealot due to their ‘GAURANTEED SAME DAY DELIVERY’ paid option. I waited until 5 pm at the office but the package never arrived, with no communication that it would not be delivered. Now in my book if you guarantee something it is not just a commitment but a legally binding commitment. I did receive the package a day later, so why the review then? Because as a matter of principle I believe takealot is getting an unfair advantage over their competition by using what I consider to be false advertising. The misleading preferential delivery offer is what influenced my decision to buy from takealot and not their competitor. The review is not based on this single transaction but on the fact that all my recent deliveries from takealot has taken longer than promised. My wife had the same experience and so did anyone you ask about their most recent experience with takealot. So in conclusion, if delivery turnaround time is not a factor then buy from takealot otherwise don’t.
