Takealot's "Worry Free Guarantee." on an Amazon Kindle Fires Kids Edition.
Last year I bought my Daughter an Amazon Kindle Fire 7inch 16GB model for Christmas. On Takealots site were the words:
"Guarantee - 1-year worry-free guarantee: if they break it, return it and we'll replace it for free. No questions asked."
The item stopped charging and I tried to log a return. The only reply I got was that I must contact Amazon directly through a link. I checked my Amazon account and the device reflected on it but was not registered to be returned.(This took about 2h to figure out.) A day or two later I went to Takealot's return facilities in Montague Gardens to return the item. After standing in a que for 20 mins and hearing how other customers had been sent from pillar to post I decided I was not accepting this treatment. The item I was returning had the words "Worry Free Guarantee." I reached the counter and the Gentleman started typing things in his computer frantically and phoning people. At last he handed me the tablet and a piece of paper saying I needed to follow the directions on the piece of paper in order to return the item. He also stated that there was no other option. I walked out leaving the device at the Returns Department. So much for the "Worry Free Guarantee" Good luck Takealot I have always supported your business. If this is the way you treat your Customers after making statements about a "Worry Free Guarantee" how can I trust you with other purchases. I am taking my business elsewhere.
