TAKEALOT's UNDERHANDED BEHAVIOUR. WATCH OUT!!!!!

In December 2022, I ordered several items from Takealot with a value of R2877 for which I used a R250 voucher and paid by card for the remainder. One of the items was cancelled as it was out of stock and R215 was credited.

Beginning of February 2023 I ordered a suitcase and paid a "Same Day Delivery" fee to get it that day as I was flying to Cape Town the next day. Case was not delivered in time and I had to go buy a suitcase elsewhere. While on my flight, the delivery came which was rejected as I had no further need for this item. However, this order was then marked as "Delivered" on the site.

After countless back and forth with unhelpful Customer Service Agents, it was discovered that they had the item and they logged a return on my behalf.

This return was then stuck in "Return to Collection Centre" for a week before being process after I had to first follow up from my side AGAIN.

I requested a refund into my bank account and NOT credit on Takealot. All but the R215 from my December 2023 order that was credited was refunded and I was told that this is a voucher and cannot be paid out in cash. How is it that out of a R2877 order of which R250 was a voucher, do they refund the voucher part of the order when they are the ones who could not fulfill the order?

When referring this to the Customer Service department and explaining my grievance, I was given a copied and pasted response of "Gift Vouchers and Coupons T&C's".

I have been a loyal customer of Takealot when they were still Kalahari.net but NO MORE.

I find the service I have received from not delivering the same day to marking an undelivered order as delivered, all the way through the refund as underhanded and ************.

Not only will I no longer support Takealot in any way but I will also make sure to inform as many people as possible about the way they do business.

In addition to all of the questionable practices I have been exposed to, Takealot don't have contact numbers to reach them on their site other than a Delivery number that is only available in certain instances. They rather force you to use their "Contact Us" form. Why are you making it as hard as possible to get hold of someone Takealot?

My experience with the Customer Service department is also that they are not knowledgeable enough to assist properly which frustrated me even more.

I wonder if they consider the treatment I have received as acceptable?
