Takealot's False advertising of warranties.

I purchased a mellarware floor fan from takealot last year November 5th, this year the during November the fan stopped functioning. I logged a return and asked for the fan to be replaced/repaired.

According to takealot's website listing the fan - it advertises a 2 year warranty for the product. After the two weeks had passed upon which i was issued with a quote from their manufacturer stating I need to pay to have the device fixed. According to them I did not register for the extended 2nd year for my warranty.

While takealot has a ? icon on the 2 year warranty, it does not explicitly state that this is a 1 year warranty and 1 year extended warranty that required the client to sign up for - which amounts to blatant lying or false advertising.
