Takealot's 21 day promise is a blatant lie.

I have been a long time customer of Takealot and my experience with them has been a good one thus far, however my recent issue with them is the blatant lie that they tell on their website regarding their "21 day promise".

I bought a laptop from them last year when we all started working from home so I could do my work and after just 7 months of using it, it stopped charging.

I requested a return on their website and they collected the laptop as expected and sent it off to the manufacturer, all went fine until this point, I expected that the issue would be resolved quickly as a laptop is an essential item, especially because of the times we are in.

My issue with them is that they sent me a nicely worded email, promising me that if the processes takes longer than 21 days, they will contact me regarding a refund or replacement, this is the wording:

"Once the supplier informs us that your product is eligible for a return under the terms of the manufacturer warranty, we can go ahead and action the outcome that the supplier approves according to their policy (a credit, refund, repair or replacement).

This process can take a few weeks, but our 21 day promise ensures that once 21 days have passed from the date you logged your return, we will be in contact to offer you a credit/refund if you would not like to wait for a repair or replacement to arrive."

I sent them a message after 21 days and they told me that I have to wait for the supplier to get back to them and the delay was because the supplier closed for the holidays. This left me in a difficult situation so I asked them about their 21 day promise, all I was given was a canned apology and I was told that I have to wait for what has imp**** to be an indefinite amount of time.

I was forced to purchase another laptop so I can at least work as I do not know if this will ever get resolved.
